What the metaverse means for you

Curate42 hosted ‘What the metaverse means for you’ on Wednesday the 13th October.

The event saw Managing Partners of Curate42, Wyndham Lewis and Tiffany St James, breakdown what is the metaverse and how recent trends in music, video games and art are shaping our future in digital spaces. The event was hosted on Curate42’s very own metaverse space on VRooms.

Tiffany explained, “one of the key features of the metaverse is that it’s always on, whether you are in attendance or not”, as well as typically featuring communities, currencies, economies and avatars. How we are already seeing the commercial impact of the metaverse in areas such as digital advertising in video games, remote surgery and the boom in virtual work and events expedited by Covid-19.

Wyndham shared how brands need to focus on awareness, relevance trust more than ever before to engage clients, customers and employees in the metaverse. He highlighted how football club brand value such as Manchester United had traditionally been created locally via matches and distributed globally, but is now being created on a global scale through merchandise, gaming, virtual community building and then related back to the physical stadium and match days.

After the presentation, everyone entered a metaverse networking space in VRooms where guests mingled, explored key moments in the metaverse exhibition and watched videos together.
