The future of venues in virtual & hybrid events

Curate42 partnered with The Eventbook to host ‘The future of venues in virtual & hybrid events’ on Tuesday 13th July.

The event saw Managing Partners of Curate42, Wyndham Lewis and Tiffany St James, discuss with an audience of London venues how to leverage virtual and hybrid events for venues following the impact of the pandemic. Showcasing the unique VRoom functionality, which Curate42 have already launched for venues 8 Northumberland Avenue and Saddler’s Hall, the event explained the value of venues owning a virtual space linked to their venue and its hybrid functionalities.

The main presentation explored key revenue opportunities for venues in a hybrid and virtual world and how to engage clients in this new evolution of events.

Tiffany St James explained the threats to venue economy including such as staff shortages, deposit hesitancy and solo production companies and described the types of digital events that are most commonly being seen and how the digital event market is set to grow to $36.1bn by 2027 presenting a huge opportunity for venues to access this space.

Wyndham Lewis shared the huge advantage venues have in rooting their narrative, story and sense of place in delivering virtual and hybrid events under their own venue brand, Wyndham explained ‘One of the key strengths of your venues is that people tell others about the great time they had at your in-person event.

You create engagement and involvement in people's lives, which is really relevant because that then in turn, can create opportunities where you can bring digital and virtual, leveraging your position and uniqueness, to your clients and the relationships that people have with your narrative and history.’
